The grief of Maharani struck deep into the heart of Vidhrabha King  Chitravarma-years of worship failed and yet had no child-dejected Maharaj and Maharani took to fast.

The Lord of moon couldn't bear to see a devotee fasting to death; he pleaded with Lord Shiva-Parvati the Lord's consort smiled and showered her blessings. Thus Maharaj and Maharani's wishes were fruitful - a daughter was born. She was named Simantini but parents called her Chandramukh - the girl grew with the phases of moon, and one day the bud blossomed into a beautiful flower.

On the festive night of Mahashivaratri Kumar Chitrangad of Nishad met Chandramukhi in a musical contest - and the two hearts played the most enchanting tune of love.

Destiny smiled. It was destined that Simantini will be widowed soon after the marriage - inspite of King and Queen's protest and pleadings - the two lovers married, thus challenging the fate. All the precautions failed. The club of death struck its below - Chandramukhi cried with agony with her 'SATITVA' power she created a protective girdle for Kumar in the limits of 'NAGLOK'.
